The Climate Neighbourhoods are meeting and exchange spaces that bring together cities and communities, civil society, companies and young people from different regions of the world. The aim is to find out how cooperation can contribute to the intensification and dissemination of climate protection actions. Together, they will think extensively about climate protection and how to deal with the requirements of the Paris Agreement. The recommendations will be developed through an interactive programme with workshops, open space discussions, exhibitions and actions.
Following the successful start, the Climate Neighbourhoods will take place for the second time in back to back with the International Conference on Climate Action ICCA2019 of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, which is being organised jointly with the City of Heidelberg and the State of Baden-Württemberg. As in 2015, the participants of the ICCA and the Climate Neighbourhoods will meet for a joint kick-off and closing event.
