An informal get-together is planned for 27 September when participants arrive. The conference will begin on 28 September with a session at the Bohini Centre for School and Outdoor Education (CSOD) for a first-hand experience of how climate change education works in Slovenia. Prof.

Gregor Torkar, education specialist at the University of Ljubljana, will deliver the keynote speech.

The conference will also include three panel discussions:

  • Exploring the SOD example from different perspectives;
  • Formal (in curricula) climate change education in the Alpine countries;
  • Informal climate change education in schools in the Alpine countries.

The morning of 29 September is foreseen for break-out sessions for participants to discuss lessons learned. Inputs will be gathered for the Slovenian Presidency's recommendations on climate change education for the XVIII Alpine Conference. The conference will close at lunchtime.

The conference is aimed at education stakeholders in the fields of climate change, sustainability and the environment, teachers, education authorities, individuals in charge of programme planning in regional and national administrations, and other interested stakeholders.

The conference will take place at Hotel Jezero in Bohinj, Slovenia. All information can be downloaded in the documents attached.
