project aim

“Nature never became a toy to a wise spirit,” wrote Ralph Waldo Emerson in 1836. In the spirit of the American author, Alliance in the Alps is working today, 180 years later, to encourage people to live in respectful harmony with nature. DynAlp-nature, the new programme developed by this network of municipalities, is an awareness-building instrument for the needs of our natural environment.

Topics and contents

The DynAlp-nature programme is designed to promote innovative model ideas targeted at habitat networking and at the creation and preservation of biodiversity. Relevant measures include the near-natural management of municipal green areas and open landscape management. A diverse natural environment is a contributory factor to the quality of life and helps maintain and improve social cohesion.

International Cooperation

The results of measures taken by nature-friendly communities should be communicated across national borders throughout the Alps. For that reason, the DynAlp-nature programme is restricted to international projects that bring together people and ideas from different regions and countries. Four partnership projects for the implementation of nature-protection projects are planned. A total of 164.000 € is earmarked for the projects.
