project aim

BeeAware! would like to inspire communities in the Alps for bee protection and thus improve the livelihoods of honey and wild bees. Bees depend on an intact biodiversity. The different bee species need different plants, nesting and drinking places to survive. Holistic bee protection must therefore mean preserving, improving and increasing the habitat of these important pollinators.

“Nature never became a toy to a wise spirit,” wrote Ralph Waldo Emerson in 1836. In the spirit of the American author, Alliance in the Alps is working today, 180 years later, to encourage people to live in respectful harmony with nature. DynAlp-nature, the new programme developed by this network of municipalities, is an awareness-building instrument for the needs of our natural environment.
